A/C Compressor

2002 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6 liter engine 126k miles. Every year for the past three years, I have had to replace my A/C Compressor & associated parts. Thel compessors start turning off and back on irregularly. When a shop checks the freon level the required amount is always correct. Could there be another problem that new A/C compressors are only temporarly masking.

Yes, If the pressure switch is weak it wont be able to pull the amps through it , causing it to cycle the comp off an on.Iw ould also try a different shop, they cant be serious charging you for a new comp every year for three years. A/C systems do cycle, that keeps the evaporator core (under the dash) from freezing up
