A/C Compressor

2002 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6 liter engine 126k miles. Every year for the past three years, I have had to replace my A/C Compressor & associated parts. Thel compessors start turning off and back on irregularly. When a shop checks the freon level the required amount is always correct. Could there be another problem that new A/C compressors are only temporarly masking.

Yes, If the pressure switch is weak it wont be able to pull the amps through it, causing it to cycle the comp off an on. Iw ould also try a different shop, they cant be serious charging you for a new comp every year for three years. A/C systems do cycle, that keeps the evaporator core (under the dash) from freezing up
