The oil pump on my 94 Merc is worn out. To change this pump is a beast. You must take the entire front of the engine apart. Does anyone know if someone makes some type of external oil pump that I could mount outboard of engine to keep the car running a little longer? It is still in great condition and I hate to get rid of yet.

Thanks, Dave

Hi there,

To my best knowledge there will be no simple way to by pass the engine oil pump, unfortunately what you have is what you get.

I agree with MHPAUTOS, it would be easier to change out the oil pump inside of the engine. Here is the location of the oil pump and how to change it out. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
