What kind of power steering fluid should I use

I have a 2001 mercury cougar. The power steering has been leaking really bad I have to completely fill it up once a week. I was told that fords use automatic transmission fluid in the power steering and I know that mercury is just about the same as for so I was wondering if this applied to me as well and if that could be a reason why it is leaking so bad

Find the leak! If you don't see one with a leak this large, pull off the clip on the dust boot on the rack, it's full by now! Then fill with Mercon ATF XT-2-QDX
Tranny fluid! Oh yea. Fix the leak first!
