Heater core

1997 Mercury Cougar RX7-- 131000 miles --- I am having to replace a heater core in my wifes car and I can't get the heater core out. Can you help me?

I believe the whole dash has to be removed in order to replace the heater core. Most of ford and mercury cars require the removal of the dash.
