1993 Mercury Cougar bad vibration?

1993 Mercury Cougar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

As soon as the car is started it starts to shake and vibrate until you start to accelerate. Fuel mileager has dropped from 22 to 15. Have tuned it up with new plugs and no improvement. As soon as you slow back down the vibration returns.

Check all of your vacuum lines and fittings for leaks. Also, check your fuel pressure regulator. Pull off the vacuum line and check for the presence of fuel. If there's any, replace it.
