Car squeeks and squeels loudly while being driven down the road. The noise gets even louder when turning (doesn't matter which direction). What would make the car do this and what would be involved to fix it?

Hello, well, may need a little more info. When you say squeals, is it coming from the engine or from the wheel area? If it is coming from the engine and it gets worse when you drive or race the engine, it may be your belt is slipping. That would be a badly worn belt and possible your belt tensioner. Probably need a little more info. I am going to assume it is an engine noise. I would check the belt for being worn and if so replace it. I have attached a pic for the belt routing and a pic of the tensioner to show where it should be sitting. Automatic belt tensioners are spring loaded devices which set and maintain the drive belt tension. The drive belt does not require tension adjustment. Automatic tensioners have belt wear indicator marks. If the indicator mark is not between the indicator lines, the belt is worn or an incorrect belt is installed. If the indicator marks are difficult to view, locate the tab on the tensioner face plate. The tab should be approximately between the stops.
