2001 Mercedes Benz SL500 blower motor

Removing and Installing Blower Motor

Wiper system
remove. See: Wiper and Washer Systems Wiper Motor Service and Repair

Left and right water drain (80)
remove, 2 screws.

Center partition wall (81)
remove, 2 rivets, 2 screws.

Vacuum lines (a)
detach.

Housing (84)
remove, 8 screws, 1 rubber stopper.

Cover (86) and blower controller (N29)
remove by unclipping 6 clips (arrow).

Retaining strap (87)
unclip.

Flat-blade connector at blower motor (M2)
detach and withdraw blower motor.

Install in the reverse order
ensuring that the blower motor is correctly inserted into the mounting bracket.

NOTE : Effective with 03/96 production, the overall dimensions of the blower motor have been changed. Special installation procedures are required. SEE SERVICE INFORMATION (TSB) P-SI-83.40/55 for installation instructions and further information
