Hi there,

Quick advise needed as im about to purchase this vehicle.

Car has had water flood damage to engine unsure of exactly what sort of water and how deep it was submerged. But interior of car seems fine.

Car ticks over but wont start. All electrics work fine lights. Ect. There are no warning lights on the dash. A mechanic thinks the conrod needs replacing atleast.

My question is could there be more damage then just the conrod?

Absolutley there can be more damage. Also keep in mind an interior is very easy to replace and flood damage can be your worst enemy when it comes electrical. A flooded vehicle will never be the same no matter what you replace. Keep in mind when it was under water everything was under water including all the computers and wires that run through the vehicle. Flooding can cause corrosion in wires which can be completely undiagnosable and will cause intermitent faults that make no sense due to bad connections and high resistence. Stay away from flood vehicles they can become a money pit.
