I have a beautiful s55 amg that we love. Bought it used 6 or 8 months ago.I have had the battery replaced twice, but the problem keeps popping up.I keep it gagaged at home and all of a sudden, like overnight, the battery goes completely dead. Crown mercedes, clearwater florida has replaced the battery twice, but this has not resolved the problem. They say they cannot find any drainage problems with the system. It just went dead again and they tell me they will have to keep it a while to try and determine what is happening. That is fine as long as they can resolve the problem.I also have a 2003 sl55 amg and have had no problems with the battery and it is driven only occasionally. We love both vehicles, but if they cannot resolve the problem, I will get rid of the s55. Any suggestions to help with the diagnostics would be appreciated.

Thank You,

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Ask that they are doing a current draw test, this is when an Amp meter is placed between battery Pos and the battery terminal, this will show all current draw, if excessive then you can start to isolate systems to locate the fault and make sure that they check that there is no current feed back at the alternator due to a faulty diode as this will also cause the same problem and you will still get a reduced charge rate from there alternator.
