Engine problem
1983 Other Mercedes Benz Models Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Manual 225000 miles

Recently my husband changed out all of the filters on our 240D, (oil, fuel and air), since then it diesels or continues to run when the key is turned off. I don't know how long it would diesel because he usually has to get into work and ends up having to basically popping the clutch while it is in gear to kill the engine. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Yes I know what your problem is, the vacuum pump is no good, that's what shuts off the engine, you can go to a European auto parts and get a vacuum Kit for about $12 and rebuild it yourself if you have the technology, but I think when your husband change the oil filter, he accidentally hit a vacuum hose that goes to the interior of the car check all of your vacuum lines and make sure they are connected they are right by the brake booster and then get back to me.
