What the error code 170 mean and is it serious?

If its code p0170 its an indication of fuel trim issue check for an air leak vacuum leaks, injectors, engine wear
if engine running OK for you and no noticeable problem you should be all OK to drive until you can have it checked

I recieved that error code p0170 after I lost my oil cap any vaccum leak in the engine will give u that code check ur oil fill cap.
