2000 Mazda Protege Idles high at start up. After warm up id

Idles fast at start up with no misses but after a couple of min. The idle drops suddenly and it sounds like its about to die. But It seems to run fine once you start driving it. Sometimes when the idle drops it kind of jumps around before it drops completely.

Hi th52,

When air passages around the throttle body and Intake Air Control valve are slightly clogged, the symptoms described would occur.

Get the IAC and throttle body air passages cleanedshould do the trick. A can of carb cleaner would do nicely.
