Ac works fine, and it is cold. The problem i'm having is when I start slowing down the air coming out of the vents gets warm. Another problem I noticed is that the clutch will stop engagening and the cycles are not long at all. On about 3 seconds and then on for about 5 seconds almost like if it was low in freon Could it be the pressure switch or the clutch. How could I test it.

Thanks El gallo

Hi El gallo,

Thank you for the donation.

The AC not blowing cold when slowing down should be related to the compressor cycling on and off.

Possible causes are :
1. Excessive freon in system.
2. Insufficient cooling of condenser. Check if the condenser fan is working.
3. Pressure switch. To test this, unplug switch and use jumper across the terminals, if problem persists, the switch is good. If problem goes away, test the pressure.
4. Weak compressor clutch. Test the resistance of clutch coil and check clutch air gap clearance.

Air gap clearance = 0.014 - 0.026" ( 0.36 - 0.64 mm)

Sorry I am unable to find the specifications for the compressor clutch coil resistance.
