Engine Performance problem
1989 Mazda b2200 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 192000 miles

hello and thanks, with a high mileage engine should the ignition timing be set slower or faster to compensate for wear. I have heard to try but dont really know it calls for 6 deg BTDC from factory any thoughts on this is appreciated. Marshall

You can advance the timing but make sure there's no pinging if so back off a bit
