Transmission slips; OBD CODE indicates p1744; tcc solenoid. Will replacing the tcc solenoid alone fix the problem or trans needs complete rebuild? Trans fluid has been changing every 15,000-20,000 miles. How can I tell if the tcc solenoid is REALLY bad. What VOLTS/RESISTANCE should a bad solenoid gives? How can I change the tcc solenoid myself?

I have a 2003 Protege and it will lunge forward at lights. After researching I have come to the conclusion that I need a TTC solenoid. Have you had any luck with your problem?
