Hey guys need a bit of help. Replaced the head gasket on a 1993 Mazda 323F LX. I followed the torque settings on the gasket case but need to give it a second tightening. Torqued to 58 pounds at the moment but think thats too loose as she's sounded slighty louder than normal. Heard that on them you have to tighten 90 degrees loosen 5 and then tighten another 90. This would bring it 175 degrees beyond the 58 ft-lb. Does anyone know is this correct?

Hi there, the head bolts are torqued in 2 steps.

1. 35-40 Ft lb or 47-54 Nm
2. 56-60 Ft lb 0r 76-81 Nm

Tighten as per pic.
