My MAP sensor nipple on bottom of sensor broke off and fell in. Do I need to take top of intake off or does one of the plastic top circular pieces unscrew? The round plastic piece that the MAP sensor, does that piece unscrew or pop off? Please tell an easier way.

If it fell in to intake and it is not there then do not worry about it it will go through engine and not do much harm if any as it is plastic anyhow. Just replace the map and if it has a rubber gasket replace that as well if it does not come with it. Here is the location of the sensor in case someone needs it. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

In jut fell in top. I havent started vehicle. Im no to sure about it jus going through system. It was the nipple off the sensor. What happens if it gets into combustion chamber? Or elsewhere. Is there any other way to get it out without taking off intake top. These are pictures of motor and map sensor location.

Just put anew sensor in and start up vehicle you might hear some pinging going on or start it and pull a plug and let it idle for not more than 1 minute it may be blown out spark plug hole if not it's not going to hurt anything it's plastic and will eventually work it's way out of engine through valves. I've done this a few times with metal parts like very small screws into intake and didn't pull heads or intake to find it. If check engine light sets go to auto parts they can erase it for you as it may pick up a misfire if you pull the plug out but I would just start it up and let it go

Lost piece of map sensor. Like I stated before. Took spark plug off then put back on didn't start at all when doing that process. Put new map senor on and new wiring harness since the other was shredded. Put all back together. Then put jumper cables on due to dead battery and tried turning it over and was dead still waited and tried again and just keep cranking and no start. Tried that 5 or 6 times. Nothing. Tried the security for hummer but not sure if that is problem. Or is I did it right. Turned on then cranked for a second and left on for 10 min then repeated again and then again. But still didn't start. So frustrating. Could it be because of the nipple piece in the top of intake or motor now?

Before all this was started I rolled down windows and up but each time I had to hook jumper cables due to battery dying and the key would lock because battery was dead each time. Never started it though just put it to on position so I could get the windows up. Key locked each time until I did the jumper cables.

Because the battery went dead the security engaged. When I said to remove spark plug I also said to start engine to see if piece would blow out spark plug hole either you now have a draw on battery or the battery is bad, disconnect negative cable and charge battery if battery doesn't reach 12.4 volts with a digital volt meter it's trash and get another one. Or take to a mechanic

The battery was just put in in feburary so not sure why it would be bad. But ill charge it and see. Coukd it be anything else. Should I take of map sensor and see if it starts. Maybe I got a bad map sensor. Dont know. It ran before all of this

If you nhook map sensor it starts in cold loop and will throw a code. If battery is bad or not charged you cannot reset security system batteries can go bad in a short time don't bother taking off map sensor or disconnecting if you replaced the pigtail as long as it was done correctly it should be ok

I took it off and replaced the wires the way they were originally. I hooked up battery and says a little over 75% and im charging it now. The security lock didn't show when turning it over when it should if it is locked. Not sure. So im charging now and I will try to redo the security passlock again. I don't think it is the security due to the lock not flashing when turning it over. But it does come on when I turn key to on and then it goes off. But I believe that is normal. What else should I dsa

Well battery is almost 100% and still just turning over. Tried staring it nd let key go and vehicle for 2 secs was still turning over after key went to on position. Coukd that be starter or starter selonoid. Or battery still dead or a cell is bad.

No try a security reset sometimes these things screw up and don't show a light. Then try squirting choke cleaner into engine if it fires then it may be the security or the fuel system has shut down. Make sure to check all fuses underhood as one may have blown did the wires to map catch fire or something to have to replace them? This should start.

If it turns over it should start so I gues best option now is to take to a local pro and let him scan for codes. Your starter may be weak or burning up I think you have a coincidental problem with this

This is going to have to be looked at by a mechanic any garage with a scanner can see what is wrong. It may be a communication problem between pcm and sensors.
