While driving my car's wipers kicked into high speed, car jerked a bit and then stalled. Could get the smell of electrical fire. Opened bonnet to check the main fuses on the battery terminal and the 40A fuse was blown, replaced and it did the same. Now there's no ignition and car will not start. Any ideas?

Hey EDOR,

You potentially have a shorted wire or a shorted electrical component.
Did the fuse blow as soon as you replaced it or did you run the vehicle and the same thing happened with the wipers?

Can you please send us a picture of the blown fuse and we can identify the circuits you may have an issue with?

I would also advise if you have a burning smell then tracing the source of the smell and visually inspecting for signs of burning are a very good first step.

Regards, Joe
