Lost key and I want to know if the ignition out of my 2008 will work in it. What I'm asking is can I put an ignition out of a 2008 Maxima that has keyless entry in my 2004 Maxima that doesn't have keyless entry.

It is unlikely that you can directly swap the ignition system from a 2008 Nissan Maxima, which has keyless entry, into a 2004 Maxima without keyless entry. The ignition systems in different model years can have variations in their electronic components and wiring configurations, including those related to keyless entry functionality.

To determine if the ignition system from the 2008 Maxima is compatible with your 2004 Maxima, you would need to consult the technical specifications or seek advice from a professional locksmith or Nissan dealership. They have the expertise and access to specific information about the compatibility of different parts across model years.

Keep in mind that replacing an ignition system typically involves reprogramming the new key or immobilizer system to match the vehicle's security system, which may require specialized equipment and knowledge. It is recommended to consult with a professional to ensure compatibility and proper installation.
