Hi, so I pulled up to a stop yesterday afternoon and when I tried to pull away I had no forward gears only reverse. I backed it the half mile back home, had no issues with reverse. I pulled the codes and got P0720 output speed sensor insufficient input or circuit malfunction. If this sensor or its wiring is failing/failed, would it cause the loss of forward gears? Any ideas on what it might be if it is not the sensor? Thanks!

You are correct regarding the code's meaning. But, the result of issues with the output speed sensor usually does not make the vehicle unable to be driven. I have seen such issues as misfires, inability to shift, inoperative speedometer. However, that does not mean your situation is not different. Since that it the code you got, I would recommend starting there. Before replacing the sensor, make sure to check simple things such as shift linkage, transmission fluid level and condition.
