Long start

If i let truck sit for a day or so the battery would drain. And now i drain the battery starting truck most times. And if it starts it takes a 20 second crank and most times with starting fluid. I am thinking fuel or spark? Have not tried anything yet. Note: if i use a battery charger you plug in it cranks slow but if i use a little booster it cranks good and fast, but still needs starting fluid and takes about 10 to 20 seconds to start. Okay, so after i get it running it drives okay even with lights on but if you turn off and try to start almost all the time no start and that's only after a few minutes.

Hi,

It sounds like a low fuel pressure issue. Try this and let me know what happens:

1) Turn the key to the run position and count to 5.
2) Turn the key off and repeat step 1 three more times.
3) On the fifth try, see if it starts easily.

If it doesn't, I need to know if you can get your hands on a live data scan tool. We will need to check what the engine coolant temperature sensor is sending the correct temperature reading to the computer. If it is way off, the air-fuel mixture will make it difficult for the engine to start and could require starting fluid for it to start.
