I was driving down the highway at about 55 to 60 mph and all the sudden my RPMs shot way up and I started losing speed and it acts like it's in limp. And on my instrument cluster my display went blank I put my code reader on and it came up p0720 output speed sensor circuit malfunction

It is on the output shaft of the transmission but on your year vehicle it is under the tailshaft housing.

This means if your vehicle is a 4WD then the transfer case will need to come out in order to replace this.

Clearly this is not a small job so I included the testing that you can run through to confirm this is the issue.

Please let us know if you have other questions and we can go from there. Thanks

Okay, thanks. I'll let you know what I come up with. So far I have check the external wire harness all the connections and all seems fine no corrosion in no breakage. My transmission has vacuum lines running across the top of it and go in to the transmission. Do you think any of those could be part of the issue?
