I am wondering how to fix the load spring proportioning valve (LSPV) rod because it is loose where it connects to the LSPV. I went to the dealer and they only sell the whole valve with the rod. I was wondering if there have been issues with this in the past.

Hello,

It is somewhat of a common issue, Toyota still makes the parts for it. However as far as we know you can only get the whole valve, not just the rod. Unless of course you get lucky in a salvage yard.
I have attached the testing and replacement procedure for the LSPV.
You will have to bleed the brake system afterwards:

Any questions please let me know.

Thank you.
