Started spins however will not engage

When I try to start the dash lights go out as well as other elec. As thought the battery is bad. Started spins however will not engage. Just zing

Get the battery load tested and make sure the posts/cables are cleaned and properly tightened.

Did you meant the starter will not crank engine over zingggggg-sounds like the starter overrunning clutch is slipping
