Electrical problem
1997 Lincoln Mark VIII V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When I put the key in the ignition nothing happens, but the interior lights flicker and go off then come on. The headlights go from one to the other when I turn on the headlight switch and other times they do not go on. The battery is fully charged

When I turn the key on nothing happens, but the interior lights flicker on and off and there is a clicking sound behind the glove box. When I turn on the headlights they switch from one to another and sometimes they do not go on. The battery is fully charged

One headlight goes on and goes off and the other one goes on and off etc. It is a back and forth.

I rechecked the battery and tried to jump start it and it would not take power. Just a loud clunk

Is it the starter motor?

Think battery maybe problem can you have battery load tested? Or replace with another to see? When you tried jumping was positive on batt and negative on block? Clunk maybe starter. Did this just happen or progressed? Any recent repairs?

This was not progressive. It suddenly happened. When I jumped the battery it was with one of those self contained 300amp jump starters I bought at Pep Boys. It always works when I jump start other cars but not this time.
