2002 Lincoln LS engine light

I was driving a couple of days ago and my engine light came on and my car started running a little hotter than it usually does. I could still drive it it would not get hot just run hotter than it did before the engine light can on.

Check engine light is the messenger and its telling you that you have a problem
scan for codes
codes is the way you can communicate with the PCM
check coolant and thermostat
let me know what you have for codes
