Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Lincoln LS 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 2001 lincoln ls. The car is misfiring. When you floor the gas it takes a while for it to gain power and it is sputtering. I have cleaned the injectors. Check the coil paks. Check spark plugs. Check wires. Check vacum lines. Would could be the problem?

Engine misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.

Leaky VCG's leads to fouling of coils, boots, and plugs. Replace all 8 coils and plugs and boots if they are shot from the oil.

Very common problem.
