I am getting code 1744 or 744 on my Actron code reader. The P0744 code says torque converter CKT intermittent. My transmission repair service says he knows of no solution to the problem. The transmission works and shifts fine, but my wife now refuses to go anywhere in the car for fear in it break down in the middle of nowhere. Can you tell me how to fix the problem?

DTC P1744 indicates torque converter clutch excessive slip and only relates to the California model. There is no DTC P0744 listed by the manufacturer for your specific vehicle. DTC P0744 is generic for torque converter intermittent issue. I suggest deleting the trouble code and see if it comes back.

The torque converter clutch solenoid may be intermittently failing on you, intermittent issues are extremely hard to find since it doesn't happen all the time.
