Good morning,

Below is the procedure with the special tool required for this procedure:

Roy

1. Remove camshaft covers as described under CAMSHAFT COVER.
2. Position piston of cylinder at bottom of stroke and camshaft lobe at base circle.
3. Install valve spring spacer tool No. T91P-6565-AH or equivalent, between spring coils to prevent valve seal damage. If spacer is not installed, retainer will hit valve stem seal and damage seal.
4. Install Valve Spring Compressor tool No. T91P-6565-A or equivalent, under camshaft and on top of valve spring retainer, Fig. 13.
5. Compress valve spring and remove roller follower.
6. Remove valve spring compressor and spacer.
7. If necessary, remove hydraulic lash adjuster.
8. Repeat steps 2 through 7 for remaining cylinders as required.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Valve lash adjuster must not exceed.059 inch (1.5mm) of plunger travel prior to installation.
B. When installing roller follower, piston must be at bottom of stroke and camshaft at base circle.
C. Tighten to specifications.
