Hi
I have a 1991 Lexus LS400 with 224k miles on a 4.0L 1UZFE engine. Whenever I make a stop and the engine is warmed up, the engine stalls. It starts up fine but when I stop, it dies. The engine check light came on and I checked what the code read. I got code 22, water temp sensor signal. Can this be why my lexus stalls and could it be a potential threat to my engine if I do not replace it soon? How do I replace this sensor?

I'll start at the ISC solenoid valve and open up the EGR if it has one and check for carbon. For the Temp. Sensor try clearing it, if it comes back-you got a problem with it could be the sensor/wire or computer.

Well, I found out what the problem was and had a feeling this would go out someday. It was the mass air flow sensor. Its going to cost me $1300 just for one part! I want to thank whoever replied to this thread.
