When accelerator is depressed, car hesitates to go and then lurches forward. Sometimes it surges and also stops running

I don't get it. You've got 170K on your LS and you're just NOW complaining about hesitation? Who's driven it the first 169K? Mine has 141K and has hesitated/lurched since it first left the dealer. Especially from start and making a turn. There is no solution or recognition of this problem forthcoming from Lexus and we probably couldn't afford it anyway. Other than that, try a fuel system cleaner. My problem is not usually that severe to bother me but I know it's there. Superb car in all other respects.
