Computer problem
1997 Lexus ES 300 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 92K miles

This car belongs to my Mom and she's going on a trip. She has to drive about 20 (round trip) to the airport and back. She reports no performance problems but has had problems with this light (intermittently) when filling up (which she did today). Is there a way to reset this light until she gets back and can take the car in for service? Thanks in advance.

Try disconnecting the battery or use a scantool to erase the code/s disconnecting the battery-by doing this the computer will lose some its memories and later on it needs to relearn itself. If the light continous to come on you have a problem within the engine management system and needs to be scanned for code/s to determine what's causing the light to come on-could be a gas cap loose that popped the code. Its a free service over at Autozone-
