2002 Land Rover Freelander 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 70000 miles

I am trying to replace an alternator on a 2002 Land Rover Freelander. I have done the same work on domestic cars but never on a Land Rover. I am a little worried. Any suggestions?
