We have replaced the alternator in my wifes car 4 times since February. The car will run fine for a few days and then it wont start or run. The last time we replaced the battery also. What could be making it do this.

Could be the starter, starter relay/park and neutral switch and ignition switch assuming the battery and connections are good. Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

A dead alternator will not charge the battery it will start up till the battery loses its capacity then no start will occur

Check this out and comeback with testing results: the starter, starter relay/park and neutral switch and ignition switch assuming the battery and connections are good. Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
