Air Conditioning problem
2001 Kia Rio 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello.

I bought a Kia Rio not too long ago and I've noticed that when the engine is warm, it bogs down and idles roughly. When I come to a stop, I have to put it in neutral in order to give the engine a break. It doesn't do that while I'm driving, only while I idle. It gets worse when I run the air conditioner or the fan. The Check Engine light is on, but running the diagnostic come up with No Issues.

Also, the speedometer fluxuates if it's been running for awhile.

Any ideas on possible repairs?

Thank you,
Nick

Hi there,

If the check light is on there will be a set fault code, some scanners are not of sufficient quality to read all codes, get a scan done with a quality scanner and I feel you will get a codes, in the meantime have the base idle and idle control motor check and check for any vacuum lights, start here.
