Key is stuck in the ignition and will not come out?

This is going to sound stupid, but my key is stuck in the ignition and won't come out. I've juggled the wheel and moved the shifter but nothing, it's just stuck in there. Is there a release switch or safety thing that's causing this? Sorry for taking time with this but am kind of in a jam.

Hi,

When you place the transmission in park, does it fully engage, or does it seem like there is resistance? Also, is the key turning fully to the off position?
