Hi,
My Malfunction Indicator Light went on and is staying on. I've driven the car 3 times for short distances since the light went on. What are the possible causes? The owner's manual really doesn't give much information.
The car has been consistently serviced and had an oil change within the past month.
Thank you.

Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free. In my area that is autozone. Have them write down the codes for you.

https://www.2carpros.com/kpages/diagnostic_trouble_codes.htm

The above link should tell you what the codes mean. Or just post the codes here and somebody will tell you what they mean.
