My jeep wrangler 1999 is surging when I get around 40-55 mph and now the check engine light came on it seems to be running fine other than surging. Do you know what it might be?

Hi, it could be many things, the best thing to do, is, bring it to autozone and have the computer scanned, jot down the codes and bring them back to me for further diagnosis, the scan is free, and do not take any suggestions from autozone, just the trouble codes.
