I recently purchased this Gr Cherokee Limited. I can lock all the doors with the remote keyless entry, the alarm sets, yet I am able to open the Liftgate by just pulling on the handle. The alarm sounds, but I am concearned that someone can get into the vehicle and do some damage. I appreciate any & all suggestions.

Sounds like the lock actuator isnt working. Can you lock it manually and it works? Do you hear a weird noise from the rear gate when locking remotely?

It will not lock with the remote or with the door lock inside the vehicle.

I am unaware that it can be locked manually. There is no Key access on the exterior of the Liftgate and I do not see any way to lock it from the interior of the cargo area.
