When I turn the key to turn on my 1993 jeep grand cherokee laredo nothing happens and you could hear a weird hissing sound coming out of the engine area

So the engine isn't trying to crank at all? Do the electricals work? I.E. Radio, headlights etc. Hissing sound usually indicates a vacuum leak but that should not prevent engine from cranking

Yes all the electricals work and we even gave it a jump to see if it was the battery that was causing it to not start but nothing happen it was still the same as before we tried to jump it so were starting to think it may have to do with something else.
Do you have an idea what might be wrong with it?

Have you tried locating where exactly the hissing is coming from? The no start situation may be from a faulty ignition switch

No we have not found out were the sound is coming from exactly.
But me and my dad are thinking that it is the ignition switch thats causing the problem
and were going to try and buy a new ignition switch for the car and hopefully that would solve the problem
