Did you find out what was wrong with your jeep? Mine is making the same noise. I've spent $1200 trying to fix it & can't spend anymore to find the problem. It's driving me crazy. Please post what the problem was if you found it.

I've replaced cv joints, wheel bearing, rotors and brake pads.I've spent a small fortune and still can't figure it out.I was told it could be the transfer case by one guy another moved the the part that goes into the drive shaft and said the chains sounded tight he didn't think it was the transfer case. One said he checked the pulleys and it wasn't the pulleys. Someone told me he had the same problem with a durango & it was the heat shields. The guy that changed my brakes said it didn't have heat shields. The problem I have is I take to friends of mine that work on vehicles.I am a woman thats not dumb to a vehicle my dad owned full service gas stations and he made sure we were not dumb to vehicles but he didn't want his girls to be mechanics so I can't do the work.I can research and try to figure out and sometimes know what noises are what problems.I somewhat think it sounds like the pulley so I'm going to take mine to my ex brother n law this weekend make him give me one of his vehicles to drive and he will find the problem for me.I know he will. As soon as he does I will let you know. It should be sometime over the weekend or the 1st of the week but he will figure it out for me.

IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY AND BREAKING ME. LOL!

I was just told that a hairline crack in the flywheel will make that kind of noise. I haven't tracked down my brother n law yet but if you do your own mechanic work that might be something to check out. He said part isn't expensive labor could be.
