Car stalled out..called AAA after the car was sitting about 45mins...AAA was able to restart car to drive in onto tow bed. I had it towed to one service station..they said w/out a doubt it was the crankshaft sensor..but the would not be able to get the part till Monday(This happened on a Wed. before Thanksgiving) They suggested I tow to Dealership..Dealership gave me the run around for a day before the got back to me and said yes it was the Crankshaft but I also need spark plugs and an oil change etc..price was over 200 dollars more that the 1st service station quoted. Dealership called me to say jeep was repaired but they were closing at 6:00pm. I couldn't get there in time. Later that evening they called me back to say that the car was still stalling and not to pick up until Sat. Morning. Sat morning they called me to say that It was actually the computer that had gone bad. Im not sure this is accurate. Wouldn't they have know when the did the intial diagnoses that is was or was not the computer. Now they are telling me that it will cost me 1300.00 to replace the computer. Please advise what I should do.
