1998 Jeep Cherokee transaxle module

Code shows transaxle module shorting and it seems to drag when shifting. I changed the thermostat to a higher capacity when the weather changed. This began within a week of that. Could the two be related? I love my Jeep and she runs very well even with the high mileage!

Check fluid level then check for any wire or connector damage at TCM, trans solenoid connection and TPS wires
