1998 Jeep Cherokee starting in park

If I start my jeep and go anywhere and I turn it off and if I get back in without it sitting for a few hours I have alot of troubling getting it started. It doesent do anything but turn on the battery.

Try to put it in to nuetral and then try to start it.

Hi, I would check the connection at the starter.
Clean and tighten batt terminals
when it won, t start try and start it in neutral.
Unplug neutral safety switch check pins on plug
does it have an aftermarket alarm on it?
