The reason he suggested to just replace the whole engine is because; not only is the Head Gasket gone, but there's anti-Freeze in the engine, the oil pressure drops, my engine over-heats, and the Cylinders, I believe, are really damaged!
When I drive it, there's no power behind the engine, and there is this HUGE clanking around sound as if there are nuts and bolts loose in there.
He said if he just replaced the Head Gasket and one of those Cylinders, it would cost $1,600. And much more if there are more Cylinders, or even Pistons damaged!
I have heard the same from others, that I'd be better off replacing an "uncared for" engine. The guy who owned it first, never gave it tune-ups.
