1996 Jeep Cherokee OBD2 code P0340

I have a 96 cherokee 4.0 4wd 47,300mi. My check engine light is on and my jeep starts and drive but them shuts down as I am driving. I used my code scaner obd2 and I get this code P0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit ( bank 1 or single sensor) I REPLACED THE DISTRIBUTOR PICK-UP OR STATOR and now it will not start al all! In the least 5 weeks I replaced the battery, both o2 sensors, crack sensor. I have been out of work for almost a year now, and I finely found a job and I start in a week, please I need HELP ! If anyone can help please. Rob

Dealer replaced distributor not oem. Distributer from napa , stator looks like disk, easy to install. Do I clear code after install? Rob

Try erasing it and see if it comes back
