Engine Performance problem
1986 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1986 Cherokee, 2.8L V-6 that wont's start. The engine turns over strong, gas is making it to the carb and the plugs are firing. This all start about a 2 months ago usually when the engine was cool; sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldn't. It was very sporadic. Once it started, it would usually do fine for the rest of the day. Then about a week ago, it just failed to start completely.

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
