My 99 XJ8 has a performance restricted indicator on. I had a coolant leak at the upper radiator hose repaired and the light has been on ever since. It had a code for low voltage at bank one knock sensor so I dried the connector at the thermostat housing and the knock sensor code went away however the performance restricted lamp is still on. You can reset the emissions through global software and the lamp will go out for a few moments. No other codes will set. My dealer quoted me $250 for initial diagnostics and said it may take 3 days and more money to find. Is there a source for repair info without visiting the dealer or do you have any tips? My car has new plugs and fuel filter and runs fine otherwise.
