Recently the front windshield to my car received a nice crack just about the drivers side view and spidered down the windshield. This will have to be replaced now. I've called around to a number of different shops and I'm receiving quotes for nothing less than $500 for the windshield. Evidently the windshiled has electrical components built in that include the electronic mirror, rain sensor, and an electric heater around the edge. My question is are there any windshields out there that are compatible with my 2000 Jaguar that I could install to save a ton of money? I don't need the options that I currently have with my current windshield. What kind of effects could I expect if I were to install a windshield that didn't have the electrical components? Any ideas or tips in saving a little money if I end up having to install a factory Jaguar windshield? Thanks in advance!

You will most likely get warning messages in the drivers info center if everything isnt there or working properly. Your best bet would be to call around more and shop like you are doing. You could try a Jaguar specialty salvage yard, they may have one for a little less, but it could have sand-blasting or other minor defects from miles on the road
